Chet you never cease to amaze me mate. You spring this on us out of the blue. Then i get thinking about the cakepan (did redmax get the paint issue sorted?) and your blues junior. Can i just send you all my guitars and amps and pick em up in about a year? You can do what you like to em mod wise. :D

I would need access to your credit card for parts and such too!

A couple of years ago I actually thought about starting a little home based business doing mods to guitars.

The paint issue was not sorted out and the bass was returned to it's owner.

Shoot me an email with your email addy. My email addy is public, use the gmail one.

The 3 concentric pots give me volume and tone control for each pickup. Makes fine tuning a sound you are looking for much easier.

Did you take any pictures of the underside of that pickguard? I'd like to see it!

Hmmm, concentric pots. I was thinking I could use a dual gang pot on my doubleneck, but I could go concentric too. What's your source for those pots?

Me too. A far easier way to get greeny tone than a varitone.

No, no pics. Just about any of the online guitar parts places will have the concentric pots.

...And it's arrived. Big thanks!

Very neat - did Redmax61 draw that out? Even a blockhead like me can follow it (if I concentrate hard!).

It's a really cool circuit!! Maximum respect!

Cheers Chet - C

Excellent! Yes, Redmax61 drew it up from my description of what I was looking for.

Hmm. I'm busy comparing it to the circuit of Brian May's Red Special. Yours achieves all the same things - but with a much neater layout and more versatile volume and tone control!

Really, that is extremely nice!

Deep respects to the Feathers Brothers - and thanks.

Cheers - C

The thoughts that went into what I wanted for this project came from both Greenie's LP and Mays' Red Special. Yes, I used to own a Burn's Brian May Red Special.

For those that are interested in the concentric pot setup here is a simple wiring for a concentric pot. In using this wiring in a guitar with more than one concentric pot the wire coming off the pot headed to the jack would be daisy chained to go from concentric pot to concentric with the last one actually going to the jack.
