Cozy :?: :!: :?: :!: ..... We're waiting for you to finish this project

Doc

I wonder what that means too. I hope it doesn't have anything to do with "bromance."

I have the Fender Blues Junior Tweed NOS amp and I love it! It is very versatile for a small amp without a lot of frills and the tone is very nice. I'm using a Boss Blues Driver pedal with it and it really sounds amazing.

hi guys i use a marshall valve state 100 with my strats in the mid and bridge position, i also have a roland vga 3 which has 6 different combo sounds and 6 different stack sounds, so i can use a simulated marshall vox mesa boogie and jazz chorus, but i prefer the marshall, i sometimes throw my 76 gibson les paul custom into the mix if i need a bit of beef, i use marshall fx pedals. i like the natural sound of the amp and an un fx,ed guitar best, strat out of phase in the 2nd position, amp with bass all the way up, middle all the way up and treble half way, i have the marshall bluesbreaker pedal just on boost and i get both a mark knofler and a clapton sound, just goes to show they have similar guitar and amp settings but their style is the big difference on how they sound.

hi guys...

Hi joeohanlon: From Navan, huh? Forum user schmintan was having trouble finding a good and sensibly priced tech in Ireland. If memory serves he's further south than you, but by this stage I think a recommendation anywhere might be welcome.

Anyone you could suggest for him...?

Cheers - C

Nice product that. Hope he's using Fender authorized parts. That headstock is trademarked.

Neat: thanks Joe.

I have an idea schmintan's setup problems have a distance still to go, so that may be a very handy recommendation.

BTW: interesting website. He gives every impression of making a neck pocket with chisels. Wow - that's handmade, even by my standards!

And do my eyes deceive me? Handmade guitars from €350? Streuth!

Cheers - C

I just use an Epiphone Valve Junior amp head through some 10" Bassman speakers in a cab i built. If I want more crunch, I just have to turn up the volume, since past about half volume the knob just turns into a gain control. It sounds pretty good if you ask me.

Well...nothing like the ol' clean channel and neck pickup combo! :D

But seriously...any amp that can go clean without getting distorted or muddy will probably fetch a decent bluesy sound.

Also, an acoustic guitar can get you some blues too. Never hurts to go back to the basics. That being said... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H7ZPMScX9-k

In all this, what we'll never know is what the OP's 'ear' considers to be a 'bluesy sound.

Chicago Blues is electric blues as well. There are many proponents, many tones, many feels. You have to EQ your gear to find the groove that fits your mojo.

To paraphrase John Lee Hooker: "Don't try to be me. Only I can be me.
You be you."
