Hello to all the Strat Heads,
This is my first post.
1] Can you tell me why the Strats made in Mexico in the 90’s have a
“Deluxe Series” decal on the head stock?
2] Are there special parts etc. on these deluxe strats?
3] Fender does make “Deluxe Series” Strats in the USA,are the Mexican Strats the same spec.?
4] Did Fender make Mexican Strats in the same years(90’s) with “Original Contour Body” decal?

Hello and welcome. I'll try to answer all of your questions.

1- Not all MIM Strats had the 'Deluxe Series' decal, only that series of guitar was labelled that way.

2- Yes there are some special parts on these guitars. If you look on the product listings of this site there are still Deluxe series in production. Look under simply 'Deluxe' not 'American Deluxe'.

3- No. The MIM Deluxe series are a higher end Strat than MIM Standard, but the MIA Deluxe offers higher quality parts and construction.

4- Not to my knowledge. This is the first year(correct me if I'm wrong) that Fender added the Contour body label to MIM Strats.

In the Fender "products" link above, under the "Stratocaster" just compare the "American Deluxe" (which are MIA) to "Deluxe" (which are MIM).
