What about MIJ Strats with "Made in USA" stamped into the wood???

Check out this older thread. I just remembered that there were some guitars with mysterious histories with such stamps: half and half USA/Japanese? made in the USA for Export? These had "F" and "I" serial numbers, reportedly. It would be good to know what codes are printed on necks and body cavities.

Check out this older thread too. The guy had an I serial number, no made in japan designation, weird mix of 50's and 60's styling, but no Made in USA stamp.
