Welcome Hanso. I'm just wondering why you bought that particular Strat if you were going to immediately change things to make it look and sound better. I'd say take some time playing her and get a feel for your likes and dislikes about it before making changes. By the way, let's see some pics.

Again, welcome.

Welcome to the Forum. For pic posting some of us use Photobucket. Works for me. You'll need to set up an account.

As far as modding the guitar it depends what you want to play. Metal--humbuckers or really hot single coils will work. Blues/country--single coils not as hot as metal music.

As far as looks I have seen people put a white and black pearloid pickguards on and I think they both look sweet with Midnight Wine. With your rosewood I would go for the white pearloid pickguard.

Check out the Dimarzio, EMG, and Lace website. There are other brands but these are the big three. 2 sites have samples of what the pups sound like for the most part.

Most of all have fun with your guitar, that's what it is for.

Welcome to the Forum Hanso. It's to bad you did not buy one that you like the sound of.

Welcome Hanso,

What you describe sounds pretty good to me, What exactly is it that you are wanting to change??? Not dogging you out for wanting change, I guess I would play the crap out of it, get real use to it, then decide what to do.
Just a thought,

Bill

If I were you I'd spend some time with it before making any major changes. But replacing the pickguard and/or plastic parts is always a good first step. :)
