You could say I have issues.....but these issues NEVER killed anyone!!!
What can I say....I LOVE the Highway One Stratocaster HSS series.
I recently picked up the really rare finish of WALNUT (392) in pretty decent shape from some schmucky college kid for a song!
Much like my others ...I am going to 'gut it" and put new pickups, saddles, and tuners; and then it'll be RIGHT!!
I love the wood, frets, neck size, headstock size, and resonance of the nitro bodies. I just think the tuners are crappy, (Ping tuners...yeeech!!)and the pickups bite!
Pickup plans: A Gibson Burstbucker 3 in the bridge and 2 DiMarzio Area 61's in neck/middle.
Should be a SCREAMER!!

Image
Sunburst, Flat Black, Amber, Midnight Wine , Ebony Transparent.

Now all I'm missing is the DAPHNE BLUE finish HSS and I will have my Highway One Empire complete!!! (sounds of evil laughter)

On a second read, it also occurs to me that it is to your good fortune that your passion is not Corvettes.

Hello Stratkiller,

You are a man who knows what he likes.
Along with the daphne blue you'll want to
add a surf green, uncommon but they're
out there I think they were issued around
May '07 for a short period of time.

Best of luck on being in command of your realm.

Cheers.

Hey Stratkiller,

Here's a photo I found.
You'll have to use your electrickery
and make it a HSS.

Cheers.

I would indeed love a SURF GREEN; but it was NOT actually part of the HSS colection color palette. I mean, sure. I could very well MAKE IT BE, but I'm a traditionalist. I'll stick to the actual catalogue colors.
Heck...where would it STOP? I'll be looking to make HSS's out of SPLATTERCASTERS??!!?? Naaaaah!!!!!

The Walnut Strat is beautiful. Get the Blue one and you`ll have completed the Fender Strat Super Slam. Nice collection.

Yeah, crack would be a cheaper habbit!
Looks like a nice family. With 6 total, I would think that you would want one SSS in the bunch.
I was in the same boat with MIM strats, but I traded/ sold all but one MIA standard.
Gibson pups, ha? my Gibson Les Paul Standard Premium Plus AAA has Burstbucker pros, and they scream!
