Ok, Its time to buy a Strat. I've been playing for a little over 5 years. I am a huge Les Paul fan as that is what I mostly prefer (let the shooting begin). However, I want a Strat to compliment my LP. Listening to Lincoln Brewster has me liking that Strat sound. I play in a Praise & Worship Band as well as some Christian Rock. As this will be a secondary guitar, I am considering a MIM or used. My current budget is $500-600 What suggestions do you guys have for a LP player that has that itch for some vintage strat sounds???

Hello Rjmarlowe,

Firstly welcome to the forum.

Well if you have a Gibson LesPaul
then I would go for an American
Stratocaster, you can get a used
with your budget. If your playing
an Epiphone, then the Mex product
is a more equal compliment.
Hope this helped a bit

Cheers.

MIM Players strat. Good guitar, Variety of colors. Plus it has a cool seven way switching system to get closer to those LP rock sounds.

thanks for the imput. I do play a Gibson LP. I will look into both the Players Strat and some of the American Strats (used). Which Strats have necks that would be the most similar to a 60's style LP neck??? I have smaller hands and that is one of my favorite things about my LP.

Even the new standard MIM strats have been really nice. I'd go that or a used MIA.
