Hey all,

I have an American Deluxe Ash Strat (Serial DZxxxxxxx) in "(731) Aged Cherry Burst". Absolutely nothing wrong with it ... Just wondering if anyone knows why the pickguard on mine is "3-Ply Mint Green" which belongs on (752) the tobacco burst model ..

Did I get a unique Fender when I bought it ... (maybe it's my own Artist model !!!)

Thanks.

First welcome to the forum! I have the exact same guitar and it came with a white pearloid scratch plate. The mint green one is cool. If you notice at the bottom of the spec section they say something like--specs and prices may change without notice. I bet the mint green looks good. Can you post a pic?

Thanks for the fast response and the welcome!

Minty-ness doesn't really come out in this pick ..

I have exactly the same thing, what we've got is (I think!) a slightly lighter than usual tobacco burst. If you google the model, you'll see a mix of retailers with photos of ash tobacco burst deluxes of a lighter variety like ours and a darker one. Personally I love the lighter shade!

I say this with a reasonable amount of confidence as there was a cherry burst deluxe with the pearloid pickguard on the wall right next to mine when i bought it. The cherry has a much redder tint to it than mine.

Nice picture! Looks like #731 to me. I think the mint green looks good too!
Maybe it has something to do with the rosewood neck option. I'm going to look at the spec. sheet.

Yeah I know. I've been looking around today for a black paisley tele pick guard to put on my black tele. Have not found what I'm looking for yet but I'll know it when I see it.

That's a nice one but I'm thinking mostly black. Thank for the link I'll check it out. 8) I'm looking to kind of matching it up with the Gilmour without solid black, but I may just do that.

Hop check this out:

The guy printed out the paisley pattern on cardstock, and put a clear guard over it. he says the paisley is transparent so the tele's paint shows through.

But regardless of that, maybe if oyu find a nice paisley pattern you want, you could print it out, and put a clear PG over it.

Now that's more of what I want. I like the idea of a mostly black and a dark blue barely visible paisley pattern. I think I've seen Brad Paisley with one once but I think his whole guitar was painted that way. 8)
The black guitar with a white pick guard is just to common. :)
