Any one know anything about this pick-up? I just bought a American Delux with this pick-up in it - was wondering if anyone knew who designed/manufactured it for Fender (like S-Duncan or Bill Laurence) or if they created it. What it compares to etc. Just curious...haven't had it long enough to know it well and it might help me to know if I would want to think about changing it out later on down the line...alnico 2 or 5 - any info helps.

It sounds pretty good - but as we all know things might always sound beter ; )

The DH-1 is a Fender designed humbucker also referred to as the Atomic Humbucker.
It's a well rounded high output humbucker very suitabe for evrrything from rock to punk to metal.

Matt,

Would it also be considered a variation of the " Enforcer " pup?

I've got the same guitar and I keep hearing people refering to it as being like a pearly gates. Don't know for sure on that though. Just what i've read

I have a Seymour Duncan Pearly Gates in my Big Apple Strat, I agree, the PG sounds way different than DH-1.

There was a similar thread on another forum awhile ago and the complete DH-1 specs were posted. I believe they were almost identical to those of a Duncan JB.
