You know that feeling you get when something just... feels right?

As soon as i picked up a strat, my first strat. a squier.
It just felt right, before i even played anything i knew it was the one.
the sound came after. and i fell in love with everything.

Strats, the perfect guitar me.
the neck, those contours, and the sound. it just fits.

Enjoy your strat!

I only owned and played accoustics from when I was 12 in 1965 until I bought my first electric in 1985, a MIJ Squier strat. I had already decided many years before if I ever got an electic guitar it would be a strat. The reason was that I loved the sound of it as played by the guitar heroes I had grown up with like David Gilmour, Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, Jimi Hendrix, etc. etc. etc. I learned about it from the guitar magazines I was reading at the time.

I couldn't afford a MIA strat at the time so I bought the Squier. I got a black one with white pickguard because Eric Clapton played one. It's still the only electric 6-string guitar I own. I have never done any modifications on it except I had to make a new nut for it since the original one cracked under the G string. It has served me very well all these years.

My first guitar was a cheap department store Japanese knock off I was handed down from my brother when he got his 68 Gretch. It was brutal to play. I remember literally playing it till my finger tips bled when I got it. Stuck to the drums for a while because of it. Years later in high school I went to jam at a friends house as a drummer. He had a strat. He let me play it when we were taking a break. It was so easy to play compared to the torture machine I was used to I thought to myself "so this is what a real guitar feels like". Wanted one ever since. The tones are just icing on the cake.

In my mind at least, the strat is the ultimate rock guitar because of its tone, feel and looks.

They're iconic symbols of rock 'n roll and works of art in their own right.

I got the first one because it jumped off the rack and made me take it home.
The second because the first one started whining the blues about being all alone during the day. :D

my first guitar was a cheap black strat copy, i always wanted an Olympic white 60's strat,

a few years later, i worked at a small music shop and came in to work one morning, and in the glass case near the entrance there was a mim classic 60's strat in Olympic white.

i got it for $330 plus i traded my marshall mg30 worth about $150

I originally had a tele and that was my choice purely because its simplicity. Later I tried the strat that my guitar teacher had and the rest is history. The feel(playability and cmfort), tones, looks. I toyed with idea to get a les paul and up to date i have 1 more strat and no les paul.

When I was just pickin up the guitar when I was about 9, my dad had said all he ever wanted was a stratocaster when he played back in the 60's and 70's and soon after he lost a finger on his "fretting" hand and it dampened his spirit to play. I think thats the underlying reason why I wanted a strat more than any other guitar, now me and the old man happily share a MIM and a MIA as well as a LP but the strats get more of the work load.

When I was around 6 or 8, I would cut pictures of electric guitars out of the sears catalog and paste them on the wall of my bedroom. I don't recall seeing any strats then. I played Fender bass guitars from about age 15 until I was 50 and finally decided it was time to try the guitar (yea, I know, I'm really slow). I've never looked back since. I sold off most of my bassi... I still have my 72 Prscision and a couple of nice Peaveys. Now I have 7 Strats and (in the past month) two Teles. I'm crazy about Strats but just lately, I find the Teles equally as irresistable!

LOOKS good,FEELS good, and most of all...SOUNDS good.
I have always been fascinated by three guitars, The Fender Stratocaster,The Fender Telecaster, and the Gibson ES335. All played by 99% or better of the people who play The music I love.

We will focus on my latest MIA purchase:
1) I am a Les Paul man, but wanted a git with single coil pups.
2) I was floored by the sound. Fender Stratocasters have a distinct tone and twang that I enjoy.
3) Fender has a track record of over 60 years of quality guitar production.
4) Some of my fav musicians play strats (i.e. Clapton, Beck, and Gilmour).
5) I like the look and style.
6) I love the way the neck feels, and the size of the frets.
7) I wanted a guitar with a tremlo bar.
8) Priced low in comparison to Gibson, PRS.
9) Lifetime limited warranty.
10) Chicks like to bang guys with strats.
Overall, its a great #2 git, even though it lacks some of the features that my #1 has at half the price of my #1!

Because I love guitars and wish I could afford to own at least one of every brand made
