I got a Strat because I when I was 11 all I cared about was how the guitar looked, and I liked the way Strats looked best. It wasn't until recently that I got mine back out from under the bed and realized I loved the way it felt and sounded just as much.

Hello Maiden Fan,

I always liked the shape and about
30 yrs. back I got to play one.
Well the first thing I noticed was
how comfortable it was. 8)

I've owned at least one ever since.

Cheers.

Because when I was very young I saw Jimi Hendrix with one. I had no ideas of tone, feel.and the rest of the superlatives associated with them now!

The sound of my Strat really just called out to me more than any other of the guitars around for sale when I bought it. And how happy I am that I got my hands on this absolutely wonderful instrument! :D

I had been playing guitar for about two years when I heard Jimi. I knew then I would get me one of those Stratocasters; I have two. :D

Looks, feel, simplicity and sound. No guitar IMO beats a Stratocaster.

My first electric was a MIM Strat. Since then, I've been through all kinds of guitars, including Epiphones, other Fenders, a Gibson, Ibanez models, Carvin, etc. I have finally come to realize that the guitars that fit my style and tone preferences are Fenders. I have an American Standard Tele and an American Standard Strat. I bought my Strat to complement the tones of my Tele. Very diverse....love my Strat!

My first "serious" guitar was an Ibanez (Hamer Slammer before that, which I still regret selling) when I was 13. So I considered myself an Ibanez guy at the time and would always play the higher end models whenever I would go to the guitar shops. Years later when I got engaged (at 20), I took a few years off from guitar, and when I finally went back to a guitar shop (with a much better selection than the one I use to go to), I saw a Fender and decided to try it. The tone and feel COMPLETELY blew away any Ibanez I had played before that, or any other make I was allowed to get my hands on since.

Moral: Don't be close minded and unwilling to try out different brands just because so and so is YOUR brand.

first guitar i got was an epiphone LP-100, as it was a cheap les paul look alike, and i just wanted something that looked like that. when i saw it in the shop it just blew me away.

when i learned more about guitars and what i needed, i got an ibanez RG thru neck as i was playing heavy rock/metal at the time.

i since got into blues in a huge way, and as all my idols play strats, i decided its the best guitar for me to get the sound im looking for.

its been a journey so far, but im currently playing a deluxe SSS strat. its awesome.

I played it in store and picked it as the neck felt lovely, the body color is awesome, and the S1 switching is amazing. gives almost humbucker tones from a single coil. real round crunch with that switch. so glad i went for the deluxe as its so versatile.

Thats why i now have a strat.

I got my first Strat back in 1969. Aside from the fact that it was the most comfortable guitar I had ever played, once I really learned how it works and how to use it for my stylings, the rest was history. It surely is the most versatile guitar ever made. Besides, it looks great too.

There's Strat and then there's everything else and... (See signature)

I got a Stratocaster because I wanted a guitar that sounded like a Stratocaster and I figured it might as well be a Stratocaster. That's why I bought a Telecaster, too.
