My new American Standard Strat, Candy Apple Red (with maple fretboard) arrived from the US this week, and its everything I thought it would be - a superb and versatile instrument. I had to choose between it and a white AS with a rosewood fingerboard - wish I could afford to get both! Anyway, I'm as happy as Larry and just wanted to tell someone! ;-)

I haven't had a full scale (eg a 50W combo) amp for years.....looking at all the stuff around now is very confusing. If I was interested a very trad Hendrix/Trower kind of sound but still wanted versatility what would be a good choice? I quite like the look of the Mesa Boogie Express amps but not the price tag!
