Does anybody have any information of this guitar?
It seems to be a mix between japanese and american.
I think it has a mahogany body with laminated flamed maple. it is very heavy. I know it isnt fotoflame. It have a thin maple laminate similar to some japanese burny les pauls.
Does the ST-656HM stamp on the neck and neck joint mean anything?
I have been searching the web but have not seen one excactly like this, but there are some japanese that are similar except the body.
Will be glad for all responses and meanings.

I've seen those before. They come up on Ebay sometimes. Key features are countour neck heel, black pickguard and pick ups, toggle between the vol. and tone knobs, 22 frets, a Kahler spyder or killer, and usually a dark fotoflame laminate.

I own two HRRs(MIJ Fender Strat w/ Floyd Rose) and have done some research on them. I don't remember what the websites were where I read about these but it seems Fender Japan made two types of prototypes or predecessors to the HRR.

There was a Stratocaster w/ a Kahler Killer
Then a Stratocaster w/ a Kahler Spyder
Then came the HRR Stratocster w/ a Kahler Steeler in the late 80's
Then case the HRR Stratocaster w/ an Original Floyd Rose in the early-mid 90's.

Your guitar appears to be the second one. I don't know about the neck though. If it says "made in japan" on the back of the neck near the body, then it's probably original to that body. If not It may be a replacement neck.

Also the HRR was made in Japan using some US parts, so that may be the same for your guitar.
