Anyone got any plans, schematics, websites or other ideas on on to build a pedal board? It seem fairly obvious, but there are bound to be things a novice may not consider.

its really easy to build a great pedal board. like you said, its pretty obvious how to do it.

make sure you think about all the features you want in the board. think about power supplies, pedal arrangement, angle, etc.

when I built mine, I made sure that I was gonna be able to run all the cables through channels underneath the surface of the board. cause I hate it when there are cables sticking out all over and stuff like that.

also think about whether you want to use velcro, or some other system of keeping pedals in place.

maybe try a google search, there might be something out there.

Musician's Friend also sells a selection of pedal boards. I've been tempted every now and again.....but have yet to buy one.

Chet here on the forum has built a nice pedal board. He has posted some pics in the past.

I have one of the old SKB ones, but it's not really big enough what with the way some of the pedals inputs are...

I've looked into some of the PedalTrain stuff and that seems intriguing, but after all is said and done, it seems much better to just make a trip to Home Depot and get to work!

Modtone makes a neat one that fits inside a zippered nylon case....

No problem. Spoke with Mike a couple of weeks ago. He's a really great guy, and your order is hand-built when you order it. You can pick from his standard sizes, or have one custom made to your specs. I'm gonna order one from him one of these days...
