i have been saving up to get a mim classic 50's strat and Texas specials, but then i discovered the roadhouse strat.

it seems better for me than the 50's because i prefer c shape neck and larger frets and it already has the Texas specials.

what are peoples opinions on them? do they have a flatter radius?

feel free to post pics, because the ones that fender have never truly represent the guitars.

Roadhouse owners love those things ... rightfully so.

Hello, I'm John and I'm a MIM Strat addict. There, now that I have confessed let me try to answer your question.

I own a Classic Series 50s Strat and a Deluxe Roadhouse. If you want Texas Special pickups, I would go for the Roadhouse rather than upgrading the Classic. The Classic 50s Strat is already more expensive than a Roadhouse and then you would have the added cost of buying the Texas Specials and having them installed if you're not a do it yourself type.

Both guitars have quality hardware. The 50's has vintage tuners and a 7.25 inch radius soft V shape maple neck... the Roadhouse has standard Ping tuners and a 9.5 inch modern C neck. I love 'em both but I did upgrade the 50s pickups to SCNs. The Roadhouse's pickups are outstanding right out of the box.

A pic? Sure. It's a beautiful 78 degree day in the desert and both Strats could use some fresh air. So can I.

Thanks dimefan90. It's hard to capture just how good the Surf Green finish on the Classic 50s looks. It's a visual knockout in person and it wins the looks contest with the Roadhouse.

This is one of the best times of the year to live in the Phoenix area. It's not too hot yet and the citrus trees are starting to bloom so the air smells great. I try to remember that when it's 117 in July. :)

Thanks Martian. The conditions were so good Saturday that not even a digital photography Troglodyte like me could mess up that pic.
