as I stated I own 2 usa built strats one I bought in 1983 it's a 57 reissue a 1971 strat given to me by my father and a late 60's tele a 65 blond top hummingbird 1979 les paul coustom gibson sg and a 1983 epiphone spirit made in usa I've been playing for 31years and think I can make an objective comparison in the quality of a guitar!!!!!!!!thanks but no can of worms here as I have seen alot of mim guitars that are crap

These are great times to be buying guitars.

There are quality items across all price ranges.

Very playable guitars can be had for as little as $200!

It's gotta be tough for the companies trying to push $2000 or more guitars.

Welcome to the forum to start with. Now that you are on the forum you will see what was meant about a can of worm when some post about the MIM and MIA in a comparing manner. You have the MIM's people that think there is no differense then the MIA's who think there is. Then you have the people who think they each have there good points or bad points. Its just the great debate on the boards. I to have been playing since the late 60's and do repair and mod work for side money from the local shop which has been in business since the early 60's.

can you get a new strat sub 500 thats good? absolutely, anyone that tells you different is a snob and voids there own opnion. Point of origin matters little. Its more about the players journey and the guitar in question.
