thanks for all your advises they are very helpful.... as for the guitar it is at 280 right at this moment do you all think thats a good price right now ? they had them at 550 at the store so I might as well get a good deal what do you think..?

Hey SonicMaster, Sure... $280 is still a great deal. Not as good as .99 cents :lol: but good. Do I think its going to stay at $280.... dunno. if this is the same guitar he bought on Jan. 28th, (sure looks like it) he only paid $300 which was a good price then. It still has a day and four hours to go. A lot will happen at the last few minutes I'm sure.

I think that auction still has 1 day and 4 hours to go and that price is going to go up -a lot- more before the auction is done. If you can get it for around the price, great but I really wouldn't get my hopes up too much. I'm not sure how much experience you have with Ebay but typically the bidding on something like this will take off in the last 10 minutes...not a day before. There's nothing wrong with getting an early bid in, but again don't get your hopes up if you're looking for a steal...that auction has been viewed over 300 times so it probably won't happen.

True, but probably over 200 of them were from folks on this board looking at it! :lol:

Good point...that didn't really cross my mind until after I posted the comment. Not to mention you do get quite a few people (like myself) who simply tend to "window shop" as well but aren't really interested. Still out of the nine bids, it looks like there's at least 4 different bidders, not including anyone else who may be "watching" so you can bet it's going to go up more. We'll just have to see how much more...

That's one end of the issue sorted then.

Now let's see what his profit margin ends up being. He's already added $10 to the previous seller's shipping rate, I notice...

At this moment with 11 hours to go the price stands at $335 + $40 shipping. A total of $375 for a guitar you can't return to the shop if it turns out to have issues. How much would this Standard cost over the counter?

SonicMaster, it is no longer a bargain. I wouldn't be bidding if I were you...

i forgot to mention...I have been looking at other standard strats on ebay and they all sell for around 300 in very used conditions and are not even from 2009 most of them are oldder models so i am still thinking 335 for this one is good ?... however i am no expert on guitars so if i am mistaken maybe one of you can elinghten me ..

are standard strats good guitars?

I hope sonic had the good sense to let this strat pass by. If your willing to be patient and shop the best price, there are far better buys out there. I have bought 2 mim strats and one tele since christmas and have yet to pay over $220 for one.
