Any pics? hard to tell anything otherwise. If you can, take a close up of the headstock and of the body.

Cheers.

Welcome to the Forum.

Is it possible the first number is actually the letter I?

If so:

Your guitar was made at the
Fuji-gen Plant (for Fender Japan), Japan
in the Year(s): 1989 - 1990

If the guitar is a japanese model the serial is on the back heel of the neck where it joins the body and it will say either Made in Japan or Crafted in Japan. If it says made in Japan its Pre 1990s I think they started using crafted in Japan mid 90s. There is plenty of info available online. Google Japanese Fender stratocaster. Here's some links you can try

If you do not have a letter preceding the numbers it could be a knockoff or you might be misreading the first digit. [/url]

thanks for all the helpful posts, I think the one at teh front of the serial may be indeed a I, but will have to wait untill I get home and get My glasses to be sure. I will post pics soon of it, on the head piece it does say Fender Stratocastor, tehn just underneath it says, with stratocaster tremelo, that may be a clue as well, either way I think it may be a good guitar after reading up on $@! strats,,I got it for $300, it is in great shape and hase a hard case with it.,,Thanks again
