Not to contradict but perhaps cost effective would be more accurate than "cheap".

Cheap meaning as follows.

1.Low in relative price

2.Low in quality

3.Dishonest or base

4.Stingy

It falls into the catagorie of two out of four.

I think everyone agrees that any CS pup will be notably higher quality than any standard Fender pup ... hands down. But, to be clear, the Tex Mex pups are still a nice quality pickup. And "cheap"? They sure are ... they are a downright bargain.
