Way out in California, back in 1954, Leo Fender built a guitar and rock n’ roll was born It was the strangest looking guitar that anyone had ever been seen The guitar of the future, Leo Fender’s dream It had a contoured solid body and a solid maple neck With adjustable bridge saddles-it was incredibly high tech The vibrato was genius, soon called the whammy bar, and the dealers all laughed At this weird looking guitar It was slow to move at first but finally did catch on The days of the hollow body were just about gone Buddy Guy, Howlin’ Wolf and all those blues cats knew If you played a Strat the tone was bound to be true Buddy Holly and the Crickets seemed to have a goal They showed the world the Stratocaster and some good ol’ rock ‘n roll Along with Gene Vincent, Hank Marvin and many more The Strat was makin’ sounds never heard in the world before So fire up the Twin, tune me up and plug me in I’m gonna play Rollin’ an a Tumblin’ one more time again Then turn the volume up until the tone is really fat Ain’t nothing’ in the world like my good ol’ Fender Strat But the ultimate crowning glory, the psychedelic high Was when Jimi picked one up and literally kissed the sky The sounds he got from those six strings are still talked about today He changed the world, his guitar had wings, what more can anyone say? The story of the Stratocaster is an amazing one for sure Not to mention S.R.V or Clapton, Eric Johnson, and many more It’s the guitar that changed the world, she’s the mother of rock and roll The most amazing instrument that the world has ever known So turn on your radio, stereo or TV, and within a few moments you’ll hear a timeless entity THANKS LEO !!!!
