Hey all,

I need help with a 70's Strat color issue. Does anyone know when they started making the Midnight Wine color. I have seen many '78s, but not a whole lot before that. I have a '78 tremelo, and a hardtail in this color as well. The hardtail's neck is a '75 and I just wanted to see if midnight wine even came around that early, I know that's when they started introducing black plastic and guard on colors other than mocha.

Any help with midnight wine color dates would be awesome!

I can find where it was used on the American standards starting in 1986 in the catalog.

Hey StratHeads-

My 2000 MiM is in Midnight Wine- Love the color and I get a lot of complements on it- I just added a Purple Tortoise Shell Pick guard and it looks fantastic- I am looking to get my next Strat (and MIA) In the same color...only with a rosewood Fretboard.

I just got my MIM in this colour in Jan - it's an SSS with maple neck. Thinking of getting same colour in an HSS with rosewood. Love my Strat so far!!!
