Wildwood has some Sienna burst HSS American Strats on sale for $899...check them out...

the dealer listed above that "steve_man" mentioned, they have the new prices listed for the EJ rosewood's at $2,510 but if you call them they will go down to $2,200 right away and they should match the price that GC has had for Palomino rosewood EJ's of $1,999 (but they will also sell other colors at that matched price)

the point of this is that the $2,510 is the lowest price that it seems that Fender is allowing anyone to list as a selling price (like in an ad or web site) but the dealer's actual selling price is usually lower (like $2,200 for the EJ RW's, just that Wildwood can only advertise them as $2,510)

i saw the same thing with Best Buy, they have regular EJ's at the new price of $2,300 on their site but in the store on the local store's PC / intra-net , the price is $1,750 . The tag on the guitar is also the lower price - though if you buy on line going by the $2,300 price that's what you will pay , so the big deal is to ASK , CALL around and don't be set off by the higher listed prices on web sites (all EBay stores have the higher prices too listed) - hope too many people don't buy at the higher listed prices when they could have gotten something for less by asking or going into the actual store - usually on line is cheaper but in this case it's not, all because of Fender not allowing seller's to list a price below a certain amount even if they will sell it for a lower amount ..

so will all of this remain? or are the lower prices in stores than on web sites a temp deal?

will the EJ Rosewood's only go for the full $2,510 in the future instead of $2,200 (or even $1,999)?

hopefully only the lowest allowed posted price will remain and the dealers aren't paying too much more for gear and the price increase won't be as bad as it looks when you see the prices listed on a web site

it will be sad if the actual lowest price for an EJ rosewood for instance will be $2,510 down the line, that's just too much even though the one a friend of mine bought is possibly the best sounding Strat (neck position) that I have ever played / heard .

It's important to note that the guitars at Wildwood look like '07 models because they have the s-1 switch, which were dropped on the '08 models. Still a good price considering the recent increase.

And yes, I think the "last chance" sales will all come to a close within the next two weeks. Then, the new prices will be in full effect.

Hello all,

I am currently in the market to purchase my first electric guitar and am looking into the Fender Standard Strat HSS (rosewood). I was able to get Guitar Center to beat Sweetwater's price of 399.99 down to $385. I was wondering if the HSS Rosewoods are stocked in store & if $349 is the price at all guitar centers.

Thanks for the help.

GC should match the price, and even beat it by 10%. When I was in there last week, I think the prices on those were $449...
