Need some help. Have a Fender Strat 12 string electric guitar, white in color (more like a cream) think it's from around 1980 or so. How can I found out the year and the approximate value. Has one minor ding that's been repaired, I know it's a lacquer finish, and it's been "tuned" up, other than that, it's in original condition with all original parts.

Any help would be appreciated

Have you checked the date codes on the back of the pots or any of the other dates and codes on the guitar's parts?

sorry my information was inaccurate, found a date sticker, 1993, along with a MADE IN JAPAN sticker,
no I'm not the original owner, unfortunately.

thanks for motivating me to look at it more closely. Havent checked for a serial number any closer, will it be under the plate at the base of the neck?

Should be at the base of the neck at the back where it goes into the body. if you go to the support tab at this site there's a section that gives you an approximate date of manufacture based on the serial no. for most Fender guitars.
