Hey Echo_Delta, I was there too! A knockout show, didn't you think? I really liked John Mayer as well: he held his own nicely - but Slowhand was way out ahead, to my ears. One of those moments where you realise, "THIS is what all the fuss is about..."

BTW: the best sound quality I can ever remember at a big (-ish) show. Saw The Police the following day on the same stage - so much better than the earlier Twickenham show...

Hi bluestube: I think petere1 is asking about forthcoming dates rather than last year's shows.

All I'm finding at present is Japan in February; New Zealand and Australia in March; Britain through May; and America in June (with Steve Winwood).

Perhaps he'll be touring Europe again in the autumn?

Cheers - C

The latest Rolling Stone is reporting that Jeff Beck & Clapton tour is likely.

The first time I saw Eric Capton was at the Ronnie Lane benefit for MS back in the '80s. THere were a ton of people there, but most notably
Clapton, Jeff Beck, and Jimmy Page.

Using the Clapton Signature Stratocaster in a Ferrari paint finish (like pewter) unavailable from Fender.

[quote="Ceri"][quote="bluestube"][quote="petere1"]I wonder when he comes to Sweden :)

At dinner with a friend Friday night ( a major Clapton fan), I was informed that the tickets for the Clapton/Winwood at the Izod Center in New Jersey are sold out but that the prices were through the roof even for the cheap seats.

Doc

Hi Ceri, I'll show you a photo that I took that will make you all drool, hold on my man. I was right at the front, and I promise you, these are mine.

Somebody help me out here. That's OUR Ed Mardell, correct??
Where's the 'echo_delta' tyin that I seem to be missing??

On the photos...they are certainly wonderful, however.....

....... I had those kind of seats at Madison Square Garden for the "From The Cradle Tour" and wound up with an 8'10' basketball center standing in front of me for the entire concert. Fortunately, the tour had received so much coverage on PBS, I had videotaped and archived everthing before the live performance so I didn't miss much.

This whole generational thing about standing is a bummer and I have a hard time investing my hard earned long green trying to appreciate a performance under those conditions.

A local music college does live performance offerings in their 300 seat auditorium. It is a converted middle school. I saw a Pink Floyd tribute band there last July. Everyone stayed on their buns, and a good time was had by all. Nothing like intimate venue and an appreciative audience....not that I can't appreciate the commeraderie which had to be present on the day represented in the photos.

Just my personal take on things...and...thanks for sharing.

Doc
