I've got a 60th anniversary MIM strat on lay away at my local Fender dealer. Here's the dillemma,it's a standard SSS config, Tex-Mex pups, single vol & tone, but it has recessed pups and NO pickguard. The salesman says there were only 250 made and it's a special edition. Oh, by the way, the jack is on the HEEL, not the face of the body. It's brand new but I can't find anything anywhere about a limited run with these specs! HELP!!!!

How many frets? Is the headstock reversed? I like the jack on the heel - looks cleaner and can use an angled plug.

Looks like a fender neck on a charvel body at a quick guess. It could be a FSR but i doubt it for a anniversary model

could be a special run/FSR for standard 60th anniversary model....but I worry about the pickguard, where the hell is it? and about the one tone controls and jack placement....

I think Niki's right, it's an charvel body.....but......with....fender.......60th....anniversary.......standard.........STRATOCASTER NECK???

wotta ****!

That is one awkward looking stratocaster.

First there is no Pick Guard and plus you got a volume knob missing.

Also nice polka outfits lol.

If oyu ask me it is definitly a FSR strat...
looks like it is a take on the Quilted Maple top standard strat that were made in Mexico, they did not have a pickguard and had the same vol/tone layout....

i believe those guitars were discontinued in 2006...

I do remember there was a short run of these guitars, I dont know what direction they go with strats with no pickguards, they never seem to take off..

Is the colour a gold or silver mettalic withn a standard trem? I remember reading about this guitar in fender frontline... so yes, your guitar is a strat, be it a mim fsr anniv. strat with no pick-guard- its a strat nonetheless
