Ah, I see. I'm actually doing the hardcore thing myself right now and the Line 6 is quite helpful. (Maybe it's jsut my a--hole sense of humor... ) Sorry if I've offended.

Got a photo somewhere of our high school band in the '70s: we put the vocals through a simple Carlsbro amp/mixer thingy beside the drum kit and out through large WEM cabs at the front of the stage. It was all the equipment we had available at that moment: we thought it was crap. Now it would probably count as "classic gear"...

Amazing how Carlsbro have hung on, though, when you think of the others that have dropped by the wayside. One of our guitarists had an HH amp - anyone remember those?

Cheers - C

Yep i was in a country band and had a job with a elvis impersonator (great gig really well paid) when i was 15-17. The lead guitarist used a HH head with a watkins copycat. I've always liked em. The other one i remember is the session amps. Tremendous sound out of a SS amp.

Thank you for so much feedback...I now understand..this idea of being sponsored is not an easy task.......I'll have to continue my study to see if it is worthwhile.... Or...I could just let my son play and have fun with it..and let him go and do what he wants with it...a sponsor might be too demanding and strap the boy into playing other's music...right now his teacher wants to get him into Jazz...and later into Classical guitar playing to allow him to learn music theory in great detail...then go back to Rock, blues, etc.. Thanks for the feedback....I am learning as I go.

Far better to let him be himself for a few years. He certainly doesnt need the agro business people can put on him.

All the best to him too.
