Be prepared for a good bit of work too. Company sponsorship deals usualy want presspacks, proof of sales, records of audience attendance at gigs. Not to mention a solid advertizing outline from your PR people. Its quite the nightmare even for minor deals. Also you want to pay a solicitor to study the contract. I got lumbered with a deal i didnt want and couldnt get out of it. I ended up playing my amp miked offstage and the sponsors head/cab directly behind me. For recording it doesnt matter though, use what you like. Just dont tell anyone its not your sponsorship piece.

Its not horrible, far from horrible if its done properly. Theres no egotrip like seeing your face on some advertizing no matter how small it is. The free care is great too.
Its just restricting sometimes.

Crikey! Care to tell us which amp was on stage and which off?

Cheers - C

Carlsbro 50 top onstage. Pod into a marshall 9000 poweramp and the effects return of my jcm combo offstage. The carlsbro is a great amp very very good retro tones and versatile too. Sadly not everything i wanted but it was certainly a lot of them. The newer EVO 50 top is said to be more versatile. Sadly i fell out with em before i got to try. Not one of my better decisions.

That'd be funny if someone loved your "sound" and bought that because of it.

Ceri, Carlsbro are suffering a lot at the moment from what i've heard. I shouldnt have gone into details here. The whole thing was more a favour to me than any kind of money making scheme. My ingratitude led to a bit of agro for certain friends that made it possible for me to have the amp. All because i didnt like being told what to do. Something i've regretted ever since.
Bloody prima donas, who needs em.

DD i dont see whats funny mate, their a great underrated british amp. Certainly on a par with the big 4.

I mean funny as in someone gets the amp and is confused why his doesn't sound like yours. (No disrespect to the company)

i doubt anyone would covet that guitar tone. I was playing hardcore punk at the time. I liked the pods noise reduction and had a blank patch set with no volume for inbetween songs. The volume boost via the pods floorboard was a bonus at solo time too.

Got a photo somewhere of our high school band in the '70s: we put the vocals through a simple Carlsbro amp/mixer thingy beside the drum kit and out through large WEM cabs at the front of the stage. It was all the equipment we had available at that moment: we thought it was crap. Now it would probably count as "classic gear"...

Amazing how Carlsbro have hung on, though, when you think of the others that have dropped by the wayside. One of our guitarists had an HH amp - anyone remember those?

Cheers - C
