Texas specials would get you pretty close.

Or you could seriously adopt SRV's playing style, use original 59' pickups and really, REALLY heavy string.

Kicking on a Tube Screamer now again wouldn't hurt either ;)

He used 13 gauge strings, with a wound G (which I think is the only way 13's will come). I had 11's that came with a wound G and a plain. i didnt like the wound G because I had to bend twice as deep to get a full step bend. Also he used only a medium gauge pick, which surprised me. Plus when he plays single notes, he would play sort of a double or triple stop, but would mute all the strings he hit except for the one he wanted to ring out.

I found that upping my string gauge to .12's helped allot with giving me a bigger tone. It kills you when you first make that switch, but now I'm right at home with them. Also, turn your pick around and play it sort upside down/on it's side. I was surprised how much different it sounded and how much easier it was to play fast. It actually feels more natural to me than using it the right way.
I have Texas Specials in my Strat, not because I thought that it would make me sound like SRV, but because out of all the pickups I heard those were the ones that I liked best and what I thought would best benefit my style. They were also about the most expensive pickups I could afford. There are other options out there other than Texas Specials. I'm sure some other people will chime in about that. :)

Would someone take a snapshot holding a pick like this because people keep saying this.

Upside down? Or the butt-end of the pick? Or holding it normal and rolling it down like a metal shredder?

I've always held my picks that way. Came naturally, seems I cant play any other other way. Normally you'd grab it by the butt end and pick with the small triangular end. Instead, hold one side of it between your thumb and index, the smaller triangular side facing toward your wrist and the butt end toward your thumbnail. You can now pick with a larger exposed area of the butt end. It kinda look the shape of a finger nail.
