Welcome to the Forum.

Your guitar was made at the
Fuji-gen Plant (for Fender Japan), Japan
in the Year(s): 1989 - 1990

Judging from the headstock it looks like some kind of 60's-70's Re-Issue.

I did not think it was a 85 or 86 because mine says Fender with Made in Japan underneath it on the front of the headstock along with the serial #. It's not on the back. Mine also has different tuners!
The Made in Japan is made just like the decals that the Fender is made of and I thought they mostly came in metallic solid colors. I guess I have a lot to learn huh Chet?

A real nice guitar though! 8)

I'm thinking that guitar looks as funny and fake as the guitar discussed here:

Thanks for the comments i'm just puzzled what model, or is it authentic.
i got the guitar for 250 dollars. the guitar sounds good. i just don't know if it is modified by the previous owner. because the body has a 8 hole pickguard but the neck has a 70's headstock. thanks.

Have you taken the neck off?

good day to all, i have not tried removing the neck. The quality and craftsmanship of the guitar is nice, the wood is not ply, it has a nice neck & set of ceramic pickups, which somehow holds me from thinking its a fake fender.

Hahaha - I took one look at those tuning machines and thought to myself: uh-oh, I know what's coming...

Yup, I don't think it is a Fender at all. The serial number is all wrong (wrong location and look), and the tuning machines say COPY all over them. Sorry, I could be wrong, but if the guitar is 100% original, it may not be 100% Fender.

Thanks for the comments, i noticed that the tuners are wrong, i was thinking that maybe the previous owner modified the guitar. I have seen fender copies but this one looks & sounds way better. I just can't contact the previous owner to verify the modifications because he travels a lot.

Take the neck off and see what is written on the butt of the neck and in the neck pocket.

The tuners are like Squier tuners. Serial is at wrong place and stamped??? Doesnt the shape of the headstock look weird? Maybe the angle of the picture. Time to remove that 8 screws single ply pg and have a look, take pictures while you're in there.
