My 4th string buzzes terribly when played open. It appears to be coming from near the nut. When I damp the string above the nut with a finger, the bizz disappears. Advice on eliminating?

Thanks guys - good advice. I'm gonna take it back and try to swap it out for another one. Incredible guitar apart from the buzz! I can't believe the Samerian cobalt pickups!

if it was new, or if your shop has any kind of coverage for its used stock, they will likely do the operation for free. I is a pretty fast and easy operation for someone with experience. i wouldn't be too quick to throw out the baby with the bathwater, so to speak.
