I like my guitar up for jazzy or fusion style stuff, stuff that requires a little more 'detaill' playing.

I like my guitar down for blues and stuff I can just hammer out while singing.
To me its the standing difference between playing with the guitar over your right leg or your left. Get where I'm going?
Anyway it makes sense in my brain. That's why its MY strat. :P

I like my guitar up for fingerpicking.

Perhaps it would be good to do it on a shaller straplock basis. Make changing quick and secure.

Why do you think slap bassists like their guitars high.

If you audition members for a band most bassists just play root note thumpathumpa. Get a bassist with a sense of melody and his guitars are usually around waist to sturnum height. Stu ham and his ilk wear em round the shoulders  .

I feel you on that. There's a shortage of good bass thumpers who aren't frustrated guitarists wanting the spotlight. They all leave bands "...like a girl changes clothes.." lol

I may be wrong, but I seem to remember reading that there were P-Basses with an extra strap button on the headstock, so players used to upright basses would have a more comfortable angle to choose.

How about this one?
Image

:D

Well, not really--that's one I made a while back for fun. Why not put a Bigsby & P-90's on a Strat?!?

Well I doubt I would.

Here's the real one-(well, my real choices anyways)
With a Walnut body-because walnut Strats look cool, and sound cool.
Including a clear pickguard to see the walnut.
