I bought a kerry king jcm800, by no means the best incarnation of the JCM amps. Just to get a good highgain sound. Much the same as you Twelvebar i heard something i liked on someone elses rig and saw where it would serve my purpose. Theres nothing at all wrong in that. I just want people to have a bit of sense and not fall for the constant marketing ploys used in the industry.
Well said. The whole idea about making music is being creative. I just love being able to do something and make it my own.All the greats knew this and thats what set them apart from everybody else.I dont mind taking an element from someone else and using it ,thats all part of making music.

Hey StratHeads-

You know who else has a great "Texas Tone" is Henry Garta of Los Lonely Boys. I believe his main strat is a MIM but I dont know what kind of pick-ups he has in it. Great tone !

He does have a spectacular tone. A great player too.

Thank god- someone had to bring this up and im glad its been said. I think the texas specials were intended to be on srv sig strat- they proved to be popular they decided to sell them seperatly and put them in various other models.

But your right, CS fat 50's are better and more toneful then texas specials in my own personal opinion and a better representation of THAT sound than Texas Specials are
