For about 3 years now, i have been dreaming about getting a real Fender Stratocaster. Since the new American Standards came out i took an instrest in the blzzard pearl HSS model with the maple fretboard. Later on i looked at the price... $1500 Canadian!! Due to the fact that im a high school student and looking for a part time job, i dont have money laying around. ill be paying for insurance on my toyota echo soon. so i remember playing a couple of MIM strat. i remembered how awesome they played and sounded. So for a 1/3 of the price im thinking of buying a MIM standard fat strat. then with any left over money ill mod it a bit (make it my own ya'know) what do you think? and what should i look into?

I bought one last year and it has been great. I'm thinking of changing p'ups and putting a Callaham block into it down the road.
