When are you coming for a visit? Mrs Ceri and I have some good treats waiting for you and Mrs Hop. And I doubt Snowy would stay away! C'mon - the airlines are desperate for your business, after all...Cheers - C

We hold that as a standing invitation and the same goes for you, Niki, and Snowy, and the rest of the lot including Mike and Alain. There are a host of things still going on stateside before we jump the pond again and if we do, I would hope that Alain would jump on the train or drive whatever James Bond inspired automobile he's owning these days, to London and join us. :P I know that Niki is thinking about Disneyworld and were he to be there at a time that finds me in Florida I would try to link Steve and myself to that trip.

It's good to know that the Forum has generated this kind of common spirit. The guys who were together at Fender University last summer seemed to have found it as well.

Doc

[Yeah them hobbits had gandalf stamp out tornado's.[/quote]

The way Hobbit habitats were constructed, they were better than storm shelters.

(My, my.....we do jump about in our big furry feet, don't we :?: :P )

It's going to be a great get-together, whenever and wherever it finally happens, isn't it?

Anyway: this is a whole lot more fun than talking about fingerboards, isn't it?

Supper calling from downstairs. See y'all later...

Cheers - C

AS soon as I can talk her into it. We just had our latest grandson (2months old) and it'll take a while to pull grandma away to soon! :)

Hmm. Let me try and guess: Duane? Dickie? Eric? Jeff?

Other's won't know what I'm talking about - but you do, don't you?

Anyway: CONGRATULATIONS on your new grandson!!!

Now. What instrument is he going to play in the Hopkins Big Band?

Cheers - C

His name is James Marshall Hopkins and by the time he is able to play the Gilmour is his!

Ah yes. There's a solution to that. Just present them with the COA of the 'rehab' course you took given by Ted Kennedy, Bill Clinton, George Bush, other highly respected members of Congress, not to mention our dear former Governor of the State of New York, Elliot Spitzer. That oughta
clear things up for ya!
:P

hmmm leave it with me. I have a maple boarded neck sitting around at the moment and a guitar with a rosewood fingerboard. I'm 100% convinced that maple is brighter and provides more snap. Alas a lot of people will argue the point that 1/4" of wood does nothing. So if i can get my webcam/mike to record ok i'll see about posting a vid later.

They definitely have a slightly brighter tone. If someone where to tell me 1/4 of wood makes no difference, I'd tell them to go glue 1/8 of wood on the body, and tell me it makes no difference, not that they would, but the point would be made. Tweaking the living hell out of the strat I have now taught me more than a thing two about what small changes do for tone.. I'm rabbling on,.... Anyway, yeah, they're brighter.
