I blew my first real bonus on mine.

My first guitar was a squire bullet strat. Cheap as chapstick, but it made me happy. I never felt left out of the club.

I wandered the world of Gretsch Electromatic, Ibanez's, Schecter, Washburn, and other weird stuff, before I had a real stat. Even though my current is a MIM classic 50, I'm deathly in love with it. It's perfect.

...for some reason...I still wish I had that bullet to hang on the wall and bang on once in a while..

Id actually be interested in how much you would pay for an american strat in a country like Bosnia? or are they within reach to most? or are they available at all? maybe you guys dont realise buying a strat be it a squier or mim wouldnt be that easy for a kid in a war torn & politically unstable country...

Yes, they are available...
Prices are same as in USA, EVEN higher, sometimes...
I am from ''country like Bosnia" and our dealers are sometimes thieves more than delaers/distributors... :D

To get clearer picture, i will tell you that average salary in my country is ~400 Euros (~500$ per month!) , and new MIA Strats are ~ 1000 euros/$.

I think that similar situation is in Bosnia, too... :(

What country are you from Fader? very interesting you say.. dealers in my country are in my opinion, thieves too- though they virtually hold a monopoly here- no-one else can sell fenders here

Hey man, its not about the guitar, its about the love of music.

My first guitar was a cheap, made from firewood acoustic with bow and arrow action ( action of 10mm or so !). i learned tons of chords on this.

My next guitar was an Epiphone LP-100. My dad saved real hard all year and got me this for doing well in exams at 15. I have more value on this guitar than any other as although its not the best guitar, its from my dad, and he spent all year saving for it for me.

next guitar was my own, an ibanez rgt42. was into metal at the time. worked all summer to save money for it. learned a lot on this guitar, about floating trems, guitar setup etc.
Its been customized with a schaller steel and brass floyd rose, thats been blocked off with oak, and is now getting two seymour duncan pickups installed.

I recently got my strat as my musical direction changed to blues. as im now working i could afford this quick enough. Is it an awesome guitar, unquestionably. but is it better than any of the other guitars i just mentioned? In some ways yes, in others no. it doesnt have the nostalgia and feelings associated with the LP-100 from my dad.

It didnt have the same satisfaction in buying as teh ibanez as i worked hard for the money for the ibanez.

I still have all my guitars and they all mean something to me.
what im trying to get across here is that its not the guitar, its the love of music and the journey. the guitar has a huge part to play but not as big as everyone thinks.

who knows in 5 years time i may get a an airline guitar, or something completely off the wall, depending on my future musical tastes. but thats what its about.

save money, get a decent strat, have a good time and enjoy the music. always keep a look out for that special guitar thats yours though, like my LP-100. youl make great music on one of those!

From Serbia.
To be honest, i purchased my Delux Strat before New Year (from local dealer listed here on Fender site), in time of big Fender's NY discount, and price was really ok.

But, usually, prices are in Euros, and if some guitar costs, lets say, 1200$ in USA, here is 1200 euros (or even more).

Hello, JaskoRahman.

Tell me... is it possible for you to travel elsewhere in Europe to purchase a Stratocaster more cheaply? Perhaps to Italy or to Greece?

can you buy online in bosnia if so try ebay or something to try to save money because a $100-$200 squier or mim isn't to hard to find online much cheaper than 1700 euros for a strat there
