what's the deal on the current years and models with v necks?


i thought all the 57' reissues had them including the $@! ones. lately i have seen a bunch from craigslisters and they do not have the v necks. the owners are claiming that the guitars are all original. then a few claptons have come up without the v necks. a few years ago when my dad had a clapton blackie strat, it did have the v neck. did they change these on certain years or are these people modding them or buying modded guitars and they just don't know it?????
