Is there a quality difference (other than the type of pickups used) between the MIM Classic 60's and the Classic Player's 60's Strat? I know there are a number of feature differences but I'm not sure if it the CP is actually higher quality in terms of how the neck is finished, etc.. And, I'm wondering how the Classic and CP's compare quality-wise to the 2009 upgraded standard MIM Strats.. I read that the 2009 MIM Strats have tinted necks, parchment hardware, etc. but I don't know if they've also improved the quality.. Don't take my comments as being negative -- I'm a big fan of the MIM Strats and in fact am planning to buy one.. I'm just interested in the quality differences between the different versions...

Not sure how much this will help, its only my limited comparison when I was shopping around last year for about 9 months. I shopped at about 10 stores repeatedly through the year. As far as fit and finish, my CP 50's is better than the mim's and classics that I looked at and was on par with several MIA's next to it. I did look at a CP 60's that had such a bad set up I couldn't even bare to play it unplugged so I didn't really take the time to review the fit and finish. I haven't looked at the 2009 MIM's yet.

My personal preference is the CP. Just because of the quality. IMHO
