I finally got my 1st Stratocaster, be it a 2nd hand MIM i must say i love it.
Need help in trying to find out some answers that are bugging me, have been trying to google them but not getting the info i need, so im hoping somewhere out here in The Fender Forums someone has the knowledge.

The guitar wasnt very looked after by its prev owner  & i want to do some cosmetic changes to make it look better.

anyway heres my questions please bear with me if you think some of these are stupid questions but im a stratocaster noob!

I belive the guitar to be a Vintage Stratocaster but not sure if its a 57 or a 62, how can you tell or is there no diff?

I want to change the trem as the current one is rusty, will a USA vintage trem fit the Mex? i have seen that on some ebay adverts they say what the Mounting hole spacing 2 3/16", String hole spacing 2 1/16" are on the one being sold, but how you work this out on my tremo?

Will USA locking tuners fit my Mex (the current ones are in good order i have a young daughter that likes to twiddle with things)?

is there a way to find out what infomation the barcode holds under the scratchplate?

Thanks for your time & keep strumming!

For the record:
1 x Jackson Dinky
1 x Fender HM Strat (currently beng rebuilt)
1 x Fender 2003/2004 Vin MIM Strat

No - I am 99% sure. But if wrong, please correct me.

Yes - 100% sure. Lots of people make that mod.

You say make that mod, is it easy as just swapping them over or got to mak ethe hole bigger?

Yes. It is one-for-one simple drop in replacement. The MIM tuners have the same exact holes as the Fender locking Schallers. Also, when you do it, keep in mind the locking tuners are staggered so you will not need to use the MIM's string tree on the headstock.

Usually, parts from MIA Strats don`t fit MIM Strats and for a reason. This being so no one can pawn off an MIM for an MIA. You may have to make some modifications for certain things to fit but I know from my own experience that I once tried to put a tremolo block from a MIM into an MIA and their 2 different shapes and it didn`t work .
