Hi folks! I'm new to the forum. I just bought my first "new" guitar a few days ago. Deluxe Strat SSS. Lovin' it, except the S-1 is already not working properly. Only worked for about 10 minutes today. Bummer! Middle pup is also not working. What's the deal? I expected this to be a fine instrument. My research leads me to believe that others are having troubles with the S-1. I'm bringing it in to a authorized luthier on Monday. Anyone have a similar experience? Any insight? What's the fix? I'm worried that this may be a recurring problem with my guitar even after it's repaired. As someone else stated on this forum... the S-1 is a great concept, just poorly executed.

Thanks!

That's very unfortunate....sorry to hear that mate.I have 2 of my starts with S-1 switch and they work perfectly fine......get it back to the store and get them change it for you.
Tell us how the outcome is...good luck!

Yeah, that would be ideal. Problem is I bought a 2008 at $700 less than the 2009 price. Here in Canada the Fender increase coupled with our falling dollar is killing us. Doubtful that they'll give me a 2009. That's where I'm going Monday morning though.

From what I understand there have been issues with the S-1 switch in the past.
Just take it to an Authorized Fender Tech and have it fixed.

YES! Do that, and stop being so goofy. If ya bought something and it's broken or doesn't work, you take it back... to the store...where you bought it...where you live...OK? Please?
