Post subject: Advice please Fender American HSS....

I own an American Deluxe HSS and have had a problem with finding a UK supplier of S1 Knob Volume/Pickup up and down (push push). Is there anybody out there who can help

I'm not sure on this........but I've heard that Fender doesn't not sell the S-1 switch as a part. It's my understanding that if it goes bad......you have to go through a Fender service center to get it repaired. I could be wrong.....and if I am......I'm sure someone will come along and correct me.

No, I think you're pretty much correct. Just like you couldnt get parts for custom shop guitars, you had to send them to the factory to get repaired, although I believe as of last month, a few select repair shops were selected to be able to do warranty work on custom shops. All an S1 switch is, is a push/pull knob, but instead of pulling the knob up, it has a button for it. You can buy a push/pull and wire it to do the same thing an S1 does. It just puts the pickups into series or parrallel, and on some positions uses a special resistor.

Actually a few months ago this question was asked on a thread and someone actually left a link to a store that sells them new stock but I don't remember the link you can look for the thread though it should be somewhere......
