Possibly Fujigen? Those good folks'd be embarrassed by that piece of work, IMO.

The nightshift. Or the janitors. I dunno - but they made this Squier neck of mine, and it sure ain't no work of art...

It's said those early MIJ Squiers are pretty decent quality. I bet those (and your) Squiers decals are much better.

Dig the laminated nut that guitar's got. Ever see one like that?
Hmmm, I wonder if it's just a piece of scrap (Les Paul type) binding.

I have to agree with the majority. I have 12 strats. Ten are collectable.
before each purchase I study both the books & info on the net.
Before I lay down the cash, I inspect both inside and out.
I have never seen an original Fender nut like that but it's not to say
some parts may be original.
Don't fret ( no pun intended ). Most of the Fender collectors out there have
purchased at least one guitar only to find a month or year later that
you sometimes cannot tell a book by it's cover.

On the bright side, thats not a unreasonable amount to pay for any electric.
even if it didn't play or sound very good you most likely could part it out
and make your money back.

This is the exact reason I started doing homework.
I got takin' on a 60's SG when I was sixteen. The only dif was the amount
by a couple hundred. Oh well, "Live N Learn".

Also, on the stamp, the "i" in Instruments as in Fender Musical Instruments is not capitalized.

"Fender Musical instruments" ?? Clearly a fake.

Haha - oh well, just to keep this thing ticking along...

Here's the headstock of that old Squier neck of mine. Note the black screen printed logo, rather than a decal:

And here's the tuners. Strikingly similiar to those in the OP:

mloker17's Strat is clearly dodgy. I'm just wondering whether it comes out of the same factory as my kosher Squier. That factory was churning out a range of product, remember...

The Chinese factory that produces some Squiers is AXL.

It could be them!!!

That is painfully fake. At least you didn't break the bank. :(

Craigslist is fine to buy guitars if you check it out in person before you agree to it.

I am certainly no expert on the subject, but that definitely looks fake to me. The broken, out of line decal, the headstock, the "made by Japan" on the back, even the lower horn doesn't look right. If it sounds/ plays good its really not that big a deal. $60 is nothing to pay for a guitar.
