Hi.Recently I bought a vintage hot rod 57 and I haven't regret it at all!I 'm not sure If I should place the two extra tremolo springs as I 'm not using the tremolo.I tightened the claw screws in the tremolo cavity but the bridge is still not flush in the body.I use 0.10" strings and I would be grateful If someone tells me his opinion

If you don't use the trem, and want to basically lock it down, then add the springs.

Add em but loosen the tremclaw before you do. Tighten the claw after. Cant see why just tightening the claw doesnt do it. It did with my hotrod.

also, if you lock it down, LOOSEN THE STRINGS FIRST!! had a friend. total idiot, slapped all 5 prings in while fully tuned. the strings snap, and he gets whiplash in the face!

learn from his lesson! lol
