i'm thinking about getting a highway one instead of an american standard so i don't have to pay so much right away and i can then gradually upgrade the pups tuners etc. and make it my own. like my own personalized strat.

ok now to get down to the topic: what is the best way to make your strat look vintage and fuction well. so i wanted to know what to upgrade on a highway one to make it vintage and a better quality instrument (or i guess any strat for that matter). thanks

no i like to relic it naturally thats partly why i like the h1 cause it has the nitro finish. i mean parts and everything (although i might stain the pickguard and nobs?)

Well the HWY strats have bridges that look like the vintage ones, the saddles are just a little different.

I don't know what you could really change except the pups and tuners.
If you wanna make it look more like a 50.s strat you could replace the pickguard with a 1-ply one.

I just got a Highway one Strat and I love it. After owning it you might not want to make any changes.

Warmoth makes good vintage necks.
You can get some rubbing compound and buff it up. I did that with my own black one and the body looks just like an old school Strat.
