Other features include: an alder body, special shape maple neck, 9.5" radius, 21 vintage frets, 3 Fender "Hot Noiseless" pickups, 12db active mid-boost, aged white/black/white pickguard, aged white plastic parts, original synchronized tremolo, Fender 25OR strings, Fender tweed case, strap and a cable.

So it's similar to a mim player's strat, but it has a mid boost and start inlays, and three times the price. Hmmm, I can't see that being a big seller.

Well Richie is my favorite player of all time, and I look up to him more than I have looked up to anyone else, so that makes a difference. Plus it has a floyd.

On that basis the same could be said for the beck, clapton and guy strats.
The idea was offered here that the boost could be upped to 25db by removing the resistors on the mid pot. I wonder how that turned out.....
Morrisey?

Here's a piccy for you of my Sambora strat.
Bought in '96 new for around £1500,humbucker and texas specials, boost, floyd etc.
It's a nice guitar, fairly weighty. It doesn't see much use now but i've had lots of fun with it...just guitar>wah>amp and it sounds pretty good!
I've kept it in good condition in its case, just use a standard strat these days though. Can throw it about a bit more!!

I have a MIM Sambora in rich red finish. I'm contemplating selling it. It's a great player even though it's a MIJ model.

such cool guitars...I couldn't get past the star inlays though :? that was the only deciding factor against it. I ended up getting the FR Classic strat instead.

Here's a picture of a mim version. Great player once it was setup properly.

I have the same one in Black (mint). Great player that becomes an incredible player with a Wah, OD pedal, and a capable Amp. Love the neck on this thing!

Well, I don't know that I would rank him in that category, but his solo CD is something I never tire of, and wish he had produced more. To me, he's Clapton with a voice. I love that reverb/chorus drenched sound of his. I was thinking of him while responding to the post about the amp used for a bluesy tone.

Hop: You don't get past them....you play OVER them. There's a scalloped fretboard as well, if my memory serves me....Yes? There were also two versions...MIA and MIM (or MIJ perhaps, at that time) The MIA was white. Well...anyway....I have to go out for awhile...so I think I'll dig out his CD and pop it into my car stereo.

Later :!:

Kramer put out a similiar Sambora model in a pearl white finish, complete with stars on the fretboard, gold tone hardware and hardshell case. They were asking around $1200.00+. Music Yo.com(no longer online) handled this model.

Personally, I was surprised with the MIJ I bought it's a great player. I really don't care for the goldtone hardware or the corny stars either.

Thanks for the heads up on that. I'm not familiar with a Kramer guitar but,I definitely remember Fender having two levels of production on the Sambora guitar, the Artist series being white.

Doc
