Well, if you only use the bridge pickup, then what's the point of having to deal with the rest of them.

yeah it does a great metal/pop-punk sound. Its for fanboys and metalheads who like the feel of strats. A friend of mine has one and puts it to good use. Its never going to do little wing, but he doesnt play that song.

Extra tonewood maybe. A guitar stylized for certain people definately.

All of this site is about sales. FMIC are a corporation that demands sales to stay alive. IF(yes IF) les paul designs were the only thing that sold you could bet the fender strat would be a thing of the past for FMIC.[/u][/b]

I bet what it did was "roar," especially if he cranked it through some Marshall stacks.

Having a single humbucker in the bridge was very popular in the '80s. For me, I am always changing the pickup-selector position whether I am playing a HH Gibson or a SSS Fender. I find a single pickup way too confining for me. Just my $0.02...

To each his own i guess. Personally, a bridge pickup only would be about as horrible as only having 3 strings. i can't fathom the loss of the neck and bridge/middle tones that are so incredibly useful. But i suppose if you only use high gain tones and only play punk or some other real hard style you wouldn't need those. But for me i would equate it as an artist who throws away all but one color on his pallet.

Which is why you use several guitars. I cant imagine a guitar player not owning a Les Paul for when you need those tones. Eventually we guitar players end up owning more then one. I like the variety of spice and its nice to have the right tool for the job.

I DO own several, but mainly for a change of pace when i need it. I could own a single PU strat and have another that has all 3, but i don't see what that gets me. i mean, the last thing i want is to be in the middle of a tune to find i want to change tones. Or bother changing guitars between tunes because i *need* to. Yeah, if all you ever need is the bridge then i can see it. But otherwise i can't see the reason behind it. I don't see an advantage unless thats all you ever use. Then i can see doing it to have no switch to get moved by accident or to go bad, etc, tho thats a tiny advantage.

Yes but to change tones doing a song you just change channels or step on the pedals

If and when I play a guitar with only one pickup, I get some more tonal range by adding mids and lows, if its without a tone control.
