Certainly asthetics are subjective, I've got my favorite, but I'd be very curious as to others opinion on these 3 picguards on this American Deluxe in Olympic White Pearl (cream looking).

The brown tortous shell is stock, the gold anodized aluminum is from Fender, and I'd like to find or have another made in a burgandy or maroon color that would match the color on the background of the Fender logo on this Blues Jr. NOS, which I tried to photobucket alter here. Kind of a rasberry and cream.

Pick one or list an order of preference. Just curious, but would apprediate it.

All three look quite nice but I was drawn to the anodized gold. It's a very distinct look.

It's just me - I wouldn't pick any of those. I love Mint Green - it would be my choice - but that's opinion.

Have you ever seen black abalone? I think it would look incredible on a white guitar.

Exactly right - The aged-looking Mint green looks amazing on white-based Strats. I am not so crazy about it on just any color, but it would work with yours, along with some parchment knobs. Very cool.

But, if I had to choose between your choices, I like the tortoise shell that is on there. I don't like the other two choices.

Just my opinion...

Thank-you Gentleman, and you know that's funny. The first guard I'd ordered to replace the tortous shell I'd intended to be the mint green, but at the time did not know that was what it was called. Ended up with Fender's 3 ply w/b/w. Tried it. Way to white for this color. Then I discovered the gold anodized. Blends very well with this color. BTW, if you're not fmiliar w/Olympic White Pearl, it's more of a cream color with extremely fine pearlescense in it. Beautiful. After I stuck it on, started getting comments about David gilmours #0001, w/ is Olympic White. I'd not seen that guitar before. After that, I decided I liked it even more. Pictures rarely do any of our guitars justice. That's another cool thing about these fine instruments; how drastically the character of the look can be changed with the picguard.

One other question. I've read that many of the aftermarket guards seem to be fit more for the Mexican Strats, and the holes don't all line up on the Americans. Have any of you encountered this?

Agreeing with some of the others, I wouldn't use any of them. Depending on the look I would be going for my 2 options would be the Mint guard for a more classic type of look. For a modern look I would go with either Black Pearl or the Black Abalone plates. Just my 2 cents.

I have almost the same look on my partsocaster as the middle picture...with the gold anodized 'guard. I think the white/white-ish body with the gold 'guard looks great!...especially with a vintage tinted neck :D

I like the gold on the white guitar with maple neck, were the neck rosewood I'd prefer the tortoise.
