Hi folks, as a new member of the forum I just wanted to say hello and also say how pleased I am with my brand new sunburst American de-luxe Strat. When I was a kid, about 13 years old, I bought my cousin’s sunburst 1959 Strat as his band was spitting up. He sold it to me for an incredible £40 which I borrowed from my mum. 10 years after that I sold the Strat to a dealer in Denmark Street (Tin Pan Alley) London for the princely sum of £100. I was getting married and needed the money, but always regretted selling. Iv’e since had a Gresch, Epihone, Washburn etc. but thanks to my wife surprising me with a 60th birthday present, I now have this wonderful new Fender Strat sitting in front of me. It completes the circle and I am very proud of it.
