They both look the same to me. And i have been looking for that neck forever with the trust rod at the heal. If there is no difference the only problem would be it says MUSTANG not Stratocaster lol i dont think there is a way around that is there?

If you purchase one of the reissue necks you can just wipe away the waterslide decal and apply an aftermarket Mustang decal.

I think it'd look cool.

Ebay also has a freakish assortment of Fender necks for sale.

As long as the neck that you buy has the decal over the lacquer you can remove it quite easily and add another.

It's not the most legit thing to do but certainly not illegal. As far as I am concerned, as long as you are using genuine Fender parts and not rebranding them to sell or rip someone off then it's all good.

The reissues are all MIM I believe, the older ones were MIJ... as far as I know.

Am I missing something or are you guys?

A mustang neck is NOT compatible with a regular stratocaster neck!
The standard Fender scale is 25.5 inches...while the Mustang is a short scale, only 24 in! This means the bridge won't be in the right place for proper intonation!

Unless this is some special short scale strat? Then if so, show some pics! In fact, I think you should anyway.

If I am remembering ccrrectly some of the old Mustangs were even available as 22.5 as well as 24 inch.
