1993 Japanese Strat Finish mystery

Hello all on the forum. I used to own Japanese Strat that I bought as a 16 year old kid. I bought it in 1993, and one of the reasons I went with it was the color. It was a Purple/Lavender where you could see the grain of the wood and it was a different color in different spots of the guitar. It was a very unique look and no else that I know from then or now has had a similar finish. Unfortunately, I loaned the guitar out and it came up missing--extremely sore subject--anyhow, I am looking for a similar finish, probably to have someone custom paint another guitar that color for me. My question is: Is there a name for that finish, and if so, how does one find it?

I have tried a few google searches, but have come up with nothing. I thought that maybe there was a finish guru on this list that could help me out.

did the wood grain look like this if so it was a foto flame

There was what they call Blue Foto Flame available as the well as the Crimson Photo flame .

Yes, that crimson finish looks a ton like my memory of that guitar, except for it was a bluish purple. Sounds like foto flame was the name of that finish back then. Thanks for the help, i will do some more digging.
