I bought my first MIJ Fender early this year. It's an Olympic White 1965 Mustang Reissue. Here's a pic.

[Jumping up and down excitedly] I want to join, I want to join!

Unfortunately, I've had a CIJ '57 RI on order for five months now. Endless problems: still hasn't shown up.

In the meantime, here's my Japanese '75 Reissue Jazz Bass. Very nice, to the extent that this non-bassplayer can judge...

Ceri five months
I've suddenly decided i dont want a mij guitar. What could possibly take that long? Theres a guy in the customshop forum that just got a masterbuilt in 4 months. I'd be emailing watchdog.

I simply haven't a clue. I tried negotiating with those online importers and found them so uncommunicative I gave up. I then went to the very nice Charlie Chandler and in essence he has been negotiating with first one and then another of those same importers for me ever since. I presume he's having the same trouble I did. If he finally comes up with the goods he'll be worth every penny of the very small cut he's putting on top of the sale.

If not - hell's teeth, I'm about ready to buy a ticket to Japan and pick the flippin' thing up for myself!

That gap on my wall is aching like a missing tooth. "I'm depraved on account of I'm deprived..."

Let me know how much charlie puts ontop when you get the guitar. I really want the mickeymouse guitar for my firstborn. I wont deal with any pokey fly by night though.
Or is there a special deal for special customers thing going on?

Not in the slightest. My one and only dealing with his shop, so far. Won't be the last, though: nice place.

Niki, let's hop on a plane to Japan, have some weird cultural experiences for a week or two, ride the bullet train - and buy up a sea container full of Japanese Fenders, bring them home and sell 'em to all these folks here who claim they're hungry for the marque.

I expect I'm the first person who's ever had that idea...

I only have one MIJ and it is a 1985 Lake Placid Blue Strat. It can be seen in the first couple of pages of the t - shirt contest thread. So I want to join too! :)
